Understanding Component Parameters for Critical Selection

1 day

Overview

It is incredibly difficult for engineers embarking on their first designs to identify the most suitable and feasible components due to the mind boggling components manufactured. It is also practically impossible for one to go through entire datasheets of numerous components just to select one.

This course guides one in selecting the appropriate components for the task by knowing the important selection criteria, and understanding and prioritising the parameters that are most important from component datasheets.

Course highlight

This course detailed guide helps electronics engineers understand the many types of devices currently available, streamline the component selection process, avoid component over– and under–specification problems, understand device parameters, and reduce costs. The course involves measuring critical parameters of certain components with test and measuring equipment to show performance difference between components of similar specification.

What You Will Learn

This course concentrates on the theoretical and practical knowledge to allow participants to achieve the following learning outcomes. Upon completing the course, participants would be able to:

  • Understand parameters for component selection
  • Acquire knowledge for reading datasheets
  • Prioritize components parameters according to project criteria
  • Use online resources for shortlisting and selecting components
