Introduction
All ISO standards are reviewed periodically to establish if a revision is required to keep it current and relevant for the marketplace. ISO 9001 is revised with the new standard, ISO 9001:2015, in September 2015. The revision 2015 is based on the structure of Annex SL which alters the existing structure of the QMS. It requires risk-based thinking, introduction of new concepts and consideration of the context of the organization that requires broader planning, implementation and measurement.
The organizations currently registered to ISO 9001:2008 are required to upgrade to the 2015 version within 3 years. To realise this transition, the Management need to understand the changes, interpret the new concepts and act on the implications.
