Course Overview
The purpose of this course is to teach enabling an Oracle database to a DB2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows Version 9.7 environment. The workshop introduces DB2 and Oracle basic architecture, basic DB2 operations, DB2 9.7 Oracle compatibility features, enablement tools, and enablement process.
Lectures and machine labs are used to explain how to enable Oracle database objects, tables, views, stored procedures, packages, triggers, and so on. Data movement and application conversion (C/C++, Java, Perl, and so on) are also explained.
Learn how to utilize the facilities of the IBM Data Movement Tool, DB2 Command Line Process (CLP), DB2 Command Line Process Plus (CLPPlus) to extract DDL and PL/SQL code for Oracle database objects, perform minor changes if required, and enable the database object in a DB2 9.7 environment.
