OVERVIEW
This course aims to expose participants to the application of data science on business data. Towards the creation of actionable insights, participants will be guided through the data science pipeline which comprises of data pre-processing, exploratory data analysis, data mining and data visualization. Participants will learn how to detect, amend or remove inconsistencies in the data in order to improve data quality. The participants will then learn to perform exploratory data analysis to generate relevant statistics reflective of the main characteristics of the data and communicate it in the form of statistical graphics such as histograms, bar graphs, box-plots etc. Lastly, the participants will be exposed to data mining techniques that will enable discovery and visualization of patterns/relationships within the dataset which might be useful in drawing inferences that can aid in decision-making. The knowledge gained from this course will enable participants to embark on analysis of organizational data towards the creation of actionable insights that match their business needs.
