Who Should Attend

All Employees and all Contractors who work on behalf of the organization – who may be exposed to noise levels above 85dBA in the plant.

Purpose & Objective

Approximately 4.5 million workers are exposed to excessive on-the-job noise levels on an annual basis. In addition to causing hearing loss by destroying the inner ear, noise can put stress on the other parts of the body causing fatigue and unnecessary psychological stress.

This is preventable hazard which becomes an added burden to the body and can result in injuries. This hazard poses a serious problem for exposed workers and their employers. The FMA Noise Regulations 1989 establishes uniform requirements to make sure that the noise hazards associated with all Malaysian workplaces are evaluated, and that the hazard information associated with high noise levels are cascaded to all affected workers so that mitigation measures can be implemented.

By training your employees to understand noise exposure hazards and hearing protection, you can reduce the risk of employee hearing loss; improve health and safety in your workplace.

After attending this training, participants will be able to describe;

  • The requirements of Noise Exposure Regulations as stated in FMA 1967
  • how the ear works;
  • when noise becomes dangerous;
  • how hearing loss occurs;
  • the potential affects of hearing damage;
  • the most common types of hearing damage;
  • the control methods to reduce workplace noise;
  • the hearing conservation program and safe work practices;
  • what are the dos & don’ts of a hearing protection device;
  • the importance of the Audiometric hearing test.
