EIEIO / INTERNET OF THINGS

Comprehensive IOT using Visual Studio

Course outline

5 days

Duration

5 days

Overview

Microsoft Visual Studio provides a rich, integrated development environment for creating stunning applications for Windows, Android, and iOS, as well as modern web applications and cloud services. Incorporating tools and services for projects of any size or complexity, along with the ability to develop in multiple languages, such as C#, Visual Basic, F#, C++, Python, Node.js and HTML/JavaScript, Visual Studio is the single product to meet the demands for development in today’s organizations.

Prerequisites

The students will be require to participate actively in creative thinking exercises. A willingness to be creative and participate in open discussions is a must. For the lab project the students will have to be able to develop a simple 3-layer web application (web interface, functionality layer, persistence layer) in any computer language (Java EE, PHP, etc.) with any database (MySQL, etc).

Course Outline

Getting Started

  • An introduction to the Visual Studio development environment and how to write,
  • build, and run a simple program.

Fundamentals of Visual Studio C++

  • Types, functions, flow of control, operators, and strings are the pieces of which every C++ application is made.

The C++ Object Model

  • Defining and using classes and objects is the power of C++. This module shows how and why you do it, and it introduces a number of best practices.

Pointers and Indirection

  • Pointers and references bring power (and complexity) to your application. This module covers dereferencing; passing arguments by value, reference, and address; and memory management.

RAII – Resource Acquisition Is Initialization

  • A huge strength of C++ over other languages is deterministic destruction: knowing when resources will be freed. You can use this to make your coding easier and your applications safer.

The C++ Standard Library, or STL

  • The C++ standard defines a library as well as the language syntax.

The Basic Electronic

  • Introduction to Electronics
  • Nature of Electricity
  • Conductors, Insulators, and Batteries
