EIEIO / AUTOMATION & EMERGING TECHNOLOGY

CITM

Reference course outline

Duration to discuss

Introduction

With few exceptions, companies today rely on IT for the deliv￾ery of business-critical services, often directly to the end consumer. IT-Managers are facing the constant pressure to deliver (new) hi-availability services at an ever increasing faster pace and rate of change.

Good IT management has the ability to assess the value and level of risk associated with operations and large scale projects, nding ways of realising potential and minimising risk, and being able to see the business strategy through the eyes of the senior management team. This in turn helps identify ways in which technology can support their vision.

Competent managers are key to e cient operation, productiv￾ity and pro tability of companies in today’s increasingly challenging business environment. Learning the art and science of IT management on the job is no longer adequate to cope with the complexity and specialisation required for today’s managers.

To enable working engineers and professionals to face these new challenges, improve their companies’ performance and advance in their careers, EPI has successfully established the

CITM program with a focus on the IT business processes and soft skills essential to improve the competency as a manager. This includes overall improvement of productivity and performance.

Roadmap

After successfully having passed the exam the candidate can work towards obtaining the prestigious CITD (Certi ed IT Direc￾tor) certi cate by taking the various specialist courses in each of the disciplines in the framework. Once successfully having passed the exams in each of those disciplines, the aspiring candidate is ready to apply for the CITD accreditation. For more information
