Overview
This course starts by giving an overview of Software Defined Networks (SDN), including discussion of control planes and data planes, APIs, SDN layers, OpenFlow Protocol, and more. The audience will be delving into real-world implementation and deployment of the SDN standard. We will use Mininet, the powerful SDN simulation, to build the network topology and show how the numbers of the SDN controllers such as ONOS. Open Daylight and Floodlight interact with Data plane. Besides, the course discusses the various flavors of north and southbound interfaces (their data models and protocols).
Who should attend?
This course is ideal for network administrations, network support personnel, network designers, networking consultants, IT managers/directors and researchers.
