CDCS

Reference course outline

Duration to discuss

Introduction

With few exceptions, enterprises today rely on IT for the delivery of business-critical services - often directly to the end consumer. It is therefore vital that the mission critical data centre is designed, maintained and operated with hi-availability and e ciency in mind. Fact is however that most data centre’s do not meet the full availability, capacity, safety or e ciency requirements often demanded.

CDCS® will further increase attendees to a level being a compatible sparring partner with suppliers and they will be able to verify o ers provided by vendors for correct￾ness, e ectiveness and e ciency. CDCS® is a must have certi cation for professional data centre managers and personnel. CDCS® is a pre-requisite for individuals wish￾ing to achieve the CDCE® status.

Mock Exam

EXAM: Certi ed Data Centre Specialist

Delivery structure

EPI courses are lectured by certi ed trainers. CDCS® is an instructor-led course that uses a combination of presen￾tation lectures and question and answer sessions, to discuss attendees’ speci c needs and issues experienced in their own environment. Attendees are able to tap into the trainer’s extensive experience to enable them to solve practical problems in their current environment, thus adding tremendous value.

Examination

Certi cation exam papers can be taken in paper based format at the end of the last day of the course, or online via an authorised training partner, depending on the country in which the course is delivered. The exam is a one and a half hour, 60 questions, multiple choice and closed book exam. The attendee needs to have 45 out of

60 questions correct in order to pass the exam. Results of the exam will be communicated to the attendee within four weeks following the examination.

Certi cation

Attendees who successfully pass the exam will receive the o cial ‘Certi ed Data Centre Specialist’ certi cate.

Certi cation is valid for a three years period after which the student needs to re-certify. More information on re-certi cation and veri cation of the current status of certi cation can be found on the EPI corporate website,

Recommended next course

Candidates with a desire to become a Data Centre expert are recommended to take the CDCE® course. CDCE® prepares participants to run a project required to scope, plan, design, implement, and retire or move a mission critical Data Centre up to ‘Tier Level 4’. CDCE® builds upon knowledge gained in CDCP® and CDCS® courses.

Participants who pass the exam will join the industries’ elite Data Centre project design experts. Participants must possess a valid CDCS® certi cate for admission to the CDCE® course. Candidates who desire to gain a deep understanding on risk management are recommended to take the CDRM® course. CDRM® focuses on the core processes of managing risk in the data centre and/or IT and is based on the leading standards in the industry. For
