Blockchain Training

Course outline

2 days

Duration

2 days

Background & Objectives

The use of crypto assets and distributed ledger technology in business and financial institutions promises secure, streamlined and faster processing of information. From specific functions such as supply chain and trade financing to more generic uses such as document management; the potential uses for businesses and financial institutions are almost unlimited.

Neuroware brings you an intense customised workshop with multiple sessions designed to introduce the audience to the world of blockchains and other forms of distributed ledgers, including the various protocols that are being developed upon them.

The goal of these training sessions is to help organisations understand blockchains by putting their team members that attend in a position to answer the following questions:

  • What are the differences between bitcoin, blockchains and distributed ledgers?
  • How do these different tools work and what are the uses for different types?
  • How can they be applied for day to day business and financial uses?
  • Which specific tools can be best applied to your organisation’s needs?
  • What benefits will you see in cost savings, improved efficiency and security?
  • How can they be used to develop new projects or business opportunities?

Day 1 - Blockchain Fundamentals

The outcome of this session is for the non-technical audience to be able to differentiate between the various forms of distributed ledgers available and how and why we now have them.

The first day has approximately five hours of presented material, which is usually spread over a seven hour period (two half-hour breaks & one hour break) covering the following topics:

  • Introducing money, assets & ledgers (how did bitcoin come to be)
  • Understanding blockchain technology (for the non-technical audience)
  • Blockchain generations (from digital currencies to open assets & smart contracts)
  • Current systems overview (industry adoption, current challenges, Asia’s role)
  • Foundational use cases (what are the most prudent uses of blockchain technology)

In some cases, depending on audience participation, each of the available sessions can be extended by up to half an hour depending on the number of questions that arise.

A projector (HDMI input) and whiteboard should be made available. Laptops are not required.

Day 2 - Blockchain Workshops

The outcome of this session is for everyone in the room to own some crypto-currency, but more importantly, for them to understand where it is stored and why it has been stored that way. The second day has approximately five hours of material, which is usually spread over a seven hour period (two half-hour breaks and one hour break) covering the following important topics:

  • Wallets (from paper, to brains and hardware to software - what are the differences?)
  • Cryptography (from hashes to encryption and key generation - demystifying the tech)
  • Key Management (generating and using cryptographic keys)
  • Crypto Transactions (learn how to create and relay raw transactions)
  • Immutable Data (storing and serving data from the blockchains)
  • Tokens (creating unique crypto-currencies and assets using Ethereum)

The content of the second day is meant as a more hands-on experience, half of which will be guided through presentations with the other half being spent actively using and exploring blockchain technology through crypto-currency transactions. As a result, laptops are strongly encouraged for these sessions, but are not required. Additional presented material will be prepared for situations that do not involve active participation.

Programme scope, delivery arrangements and suitability are confirmed during enquiry.
