BASIC JIRA & CONFLUENCE WORKSHOP

Overview

Different companies use different methods to organize their projects and choosing the right tool to suit their needs is best determined by the type of methodology they use. Jira is a good example of a project management tool that can help various teams to manage projects. A crash course on the basics of agile methodology is included in this course.

Jira is a project management and issue tracking tool that is very flexible and customizable, making it useful in a wide array of environments. Jira issue types and workflows allow customization for almost any scenario and can all be easily configured with the help of the administrative backend. There are different versions of Jira available, but the core concepts are applicable across these versions. This course uses a non-premium version of Jira Software on Cloud. Jira Software is the Jira flagship version that is commonly used for agile project management, meaning companies who use the agile methodology will benefit from using it. In connection to this, learning some agile concepts is required for learning Jira.

Confluence is a high-powered wiki-based tool used by companies and teams to share information, document products and processes, and even aid with customer support. In this course, Confluence: Getting Started, you'll learn to get up to speed and ready to use Confluence on a daily basis on your own projects and with your own teams. First, you’ll learn about core Confluence concepts and terminology and how to find your way around even a crowded Confluence instance. Then, you'll practice how to create your own spaces and pages to organize and present content and how to manage files attached to pages. Finally, you'll be able to use the powerful Confluence editor along with many macros that enhance content, and effectively search a Confluence instance and help other users find your content. By the end of this course, you’ll be ready to dive into Confluence with your own teams and projects.
