APPLIED STATISTICAL PROCESS CONTROL (SPC)

Course outline

2 days

Objective

The objective of this 2-day training session is to provide the participants with the technical knowledge of Statistical

Process Control (SPC), both variable and attribute control charts, so that the participants can implement SPC for the enhancement of their processes.

Targeted Audience

Process engineers, manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, supplier quality engineers, test engineers, production section heads, executives, technicians, supervisors, technical assistants, procurement officers, quality inspectors and individuals who have the interest in the subject of Applied Statistical Process Control.

Methodology

This program will be conducted via lectures, quiz questions and problem solving on deploying SPC for process enhancement.

Benefits

Upon completion of this program, the participants will be able to:

Understand the fundamental concept of SPC;

Understand the impact of variations on processes;

Understand the importance of using SPC to control and detect process variation;

Understand variable control charts (X-bar & R charts, X-bar & S charts, I & mR charts);

Understand attribute control charts (p, np, c and u charts);

Interpret the trends of out-of-control state;

How to perform process capability study;

Reaction plan to out-of-control state.
