Introduction

Executives & Supervisors often encounter problems and issues with internal customers, external customers, suppliers, back-up teams, top management and their subordinates. At times, they have to make decisions themselves or help their people to find a solution. Their decisions are important and critical to the effectiveness of managing their workplace.

Sharpening Analytical & Critical Thinking Skills (ACTS) is a management tool and is a vehicle for a cross-functional teams to articulate thoughts and provides effective determination to details of workplace problems and provide solutions. Organizations can benefit from the ACTS approach by applying it to all areas in the company. ACTS provides good guidelines allowing us to get to the root of a problem and ways to check that the solution actually works. Rather than attacking the symptom, the cause of problem is eliminated; the same problem is unlikely to recur.
