Course Overview
AI Launchpad is designed as an applied starting point for working professionals who want to move beyond curiosity and begin using artificial intelligence with confidence. The course builds a practical foundation in AI concepts, generative AI capabilities, prompt design, and project-based application. It begins by explaining how modern AI tools support writing, summarization, brainstorming, research support, and structured output creation in real workplace settings. It then develops the learner's ability to write stronger prompts by focusing on intent, context, constraints, examples, and expected output format. In the later modules, learners complete guided mini-projects so they can translate AI concepts into usable workflows for reporting, communication, content drafting, and day-to-day productivity.
Pre-requisite
Participants should be comfortable using a computer, web applications, and standard office productivity tools. Prior technical or programming experience is not required. Familiarity with common workplace tasks such as writing emails, preparing reports, compiling notes, and organizing information will help learners benefit more quickly from the hands-on exercises.
Target Audience
This course is suitable for office users, team leaders, executives, administrators, coordinators, analysts, trainers, and professionals who want to understand how AI can improve personal productivity and work quality. It is also appropriate for beginners who need a structured introduction before progressing into automation, workflow orchestration, or AI agent topics.
Course Objective
By the end of the course, learners should be able to explain core AI concepts in practical business language, distinguish common strengths and limitations of generative AI tools, write clearer and more effective prompts, and apply AI to common workplace tasks through structured mini-projects. The course also aims to build a disciplined habit of checking AI-generated outputs for relevance, completeness, tone, and factual accuracy before reuse.
Module 1: AI Fundamentals for the Workplace
This opening module establishes a clear understanding of what AI means in a practical, non-technical context. Learners examine where AI is already visible in everyday tools, what generative AI does well, and what it still cannot do reliably without human supervision. The module creates a realistic expectation of value, risk, and effort.
What AI means in everyday business language
Difference between traditional automation and generative AI
Common workplace uses for drafting, summarizing, ideation, and analysis support
Limits of AI outputs and the need for human review
Module 2: Getting Better Results with Prompting
This module focuses on the craft of prompting as the main lever that improves response quality. Learners practice giving clear instructions, adding context, defining audience and tone, setting boundaries, and asking for structured responses. Emphasis is placed on repeatable prompting habits rather than one-time experimentation.
Writing clear instructions and defining the task
Using role, context, constraints, and examples effectively
Requesting formats such as bullet points, checklists, and structured sections
Improving results through iterative prompt refinement
Module 3: Applying AI to Daily Work
Learners move from isolated prompts into real task scenarios. The module shows how AI can assist with business writing, information reduction, meeting support, planning, and content development. Each exercise is designed to resemble normal office work rather than abstract lab activities.
Email drafting and message tone adjustment
Report summaries and executive brief preparation
Meeting notes, action items, and follow-up drafting
Idea generation for training, marketing, or internal initiatives
Module 4: Quality Control and Responsible Use
This module teaches learners how to use AI with discipline. It covers output checking, clarification prompting, citation awareness, and the treatment of sensitive information. The emphasis is on creating useful output without over-trusting the model.
Checking for accuracy, omissions, and unsupported claims
Using follow-up prompts to improve weak outputs
Understanding the need for fact-checking and source awareness
Responsible handling of confidential or sensitive work information
Module 5: Guided Practical Projects
The final module consolidates learning through mini-projects. Participants complete realistic exercises such as building a draft report, generating a communication pack, or preparing structured research notes. The goal is for each learner to leave with immediately transferable methods rather than theory alone.
Project 1: AI-assisted report or briefing note
Project 2: Communication or response drafting workflow
Project 3: Idea generation and structured project planning
Reflection on how to adapt AI usage to the learner's own role
Learning Outcomes
