Overview
The Agile Scrum Fundamentals course is an entry level course aiming to provide a comprehensive introduction on how Agile helps teams deliver value to customer at increased speed while reducing cost. Participants will discover the power of Agile in delivering high quality products through iterative steps.
The Agile approach emphasizes on breaking down a complete product into small pieces and delivering each piece as a working product through short and frequent cycles. This approach allows both customer and development teams to collaborate, learn and improve continuously to ensure value creation.
Starting your Agile journey from scratch is going to be difficult. The Agile Scrum Fundamentals course is a good starting point as it describes the required structure, roles, processes and tools based on the Scrum framework to guide an organization to adopt the Agile way of working.
Agile refers to a group of methodologies based on iterative development, where requirements and solutions evolve through collaboration between self-organizing cross-functional teams. Scrum is a subset of Agile. It is a process framework for agile development, and the most widely-used one. A Scrum process is distinguished from other agile processes by specific concepts and practices, divided into the three categories of Roles, Artifacts, and Time Boxes. The three roles defined in Scrum are the Scrum Master, the Product Owner, and the Team. The people who fulfill these roles work together closely, on a daily basis, to ensure the smooth flow of information and the quick resolution of issues.
Course and Learning Objectives
Following the completion of the course delegates will be able to:
- Understand the values, principles and strength of Agile
- Describe the roles, artifacts and ceremonies in Scrum
- Scrum framework: understanding the rules and roles of Scrum according to the Scrum Guide.
- Cross-functional, self-organizing teams: scrum teams differ from traditional development teams. The paradigm and character of cross-functional and self-organizing teams promote flexibility, creativity and productivity. Teams choose how they can best produce their work and have all the expertise required to be able to do that, without depending on others outside the team.
