OVERVIEW
It can be very challenging trying to convince senior colleagues to adopt a new approach to delivering projects. This is particularly the case for Agile Project Management that challenges the traditional waterfall methods adopted by many organizations. The training session will focus on some key recommendations for helping to persuade senior managers to move towards an Agile way of working.
If we want to persuade senior managers about the benefits of Agile we first have to explain what Agile is. Just because it’s second nature to us doesn’t mean that senior managers have any real awareness of what it means or what is involved.
We deliver early versions of the final deliverable as early as possible to ensure we’re on the right track.
Work is a collaborative effort between the experts who design & build and the customers who will be using the solution. Agile methodologies address perfectly customer’s needs. During the whole cycle, user involvement is encouraged, providing visibility & transparency, showing the actual progress of projects.
At its very heart, agile methodology is about getting teams of people to solve problems. Traditional project management is not dead, but it's not on the rise, so get upskilled and find out what everyone is talking about. Agile thinking puts the emphasis very much on delivering a project in smaller bite-sized tranches.
BENEFITS
- High product quality
In Agile development, testing is integrated during the cycle, which means that there are regular checkups to see that the product is working during the development. This enables the product owner to make changes if needed and the team is aware if there are any issues.
- Higher customer satisfaction
The product owner is always involved, the progress of development has high visibility and flexibility to change is highly important. This implies engagement and customer satisfaction.
- Increased project control
- Reduced risks
Agile methodologies virtually eliminate the chances of absolute project failure. Always having a working product, starting with the very first sprint, so that no agile project fails completely.
- Faster ROI
The fact that agile development is iterative means that the features are delivered incrementally, therefore benefits are realized early while the product is in development process.
