7 QC Tools

Course outline

2 days

Duration

2 days

Overview

This course aims to provide participants, especially new engineers and technicians, with basic principles of continuous quality improvement in manufacturing. This involves identifying problems or issues that need to be addressed and forming cross functional teams to solve the problems. Teams will be taught systematic steps on problem solving as well as how to use the 7 QC Tools to collect and analyse data, monitor trends in the process, brainstorm on possible root causes and finally develop and implement effective corrective actions that will reduce or eliminate the problem. Also the creation of a culture that supports and encourages Kaizen activities is stressed.

Course Objectives

  • Implement effective Kaizen that focus on continuous improvement in your workplace.
  • Practical ways to use and apply 7 QC Tools for data collection, problem analysis and problem solving (includes case studies)
  • The role of management and staff to ensure the long term success of Kaizen.

After successfully completing the course, the participants should be able to:

  • Understand the basic principles of Kaizen – continuous quality improvement.
  • Identify opportunities of improvement in manufacturing.
  • Use systematic steps of problem solving to solve line problems.
  • Understand and apply the 7 QC tools to prioritise line problems, perform data collection, analyse and monitor data and trends and develop effective corrective actions.
  • Identify and develop the infrastructure required for the introduction and maintenance of Kaizen activities in manufacturing.
