Duration
3 days
Suitable for participants who have some project management knowledge.
Overview
Agile project management takes the ideas from agile software development and applies them to project management. Agile methodologies generally promote a project management process that encourages stakeholder involvement, feedback, objective metrics and effective controls. Its practices promote building quality in throughout the product development cycle leveraging such approaches as iterative delivery, continuous customer involvement, test-driven development, emergent design, and acceptance testing.
Twinning agile project management with using and recognizing the benefit of Lean Six Sigma in process management of projects promotes a compendium of processes which are integrated, and through subscribing to the best practices will ensure a high degree of project delivery success. Applying Lean Six Sigma to project management processes of projects can identify and eliminate waste in processes and drastically reduce project management cycle times, thus delivering superior project and financial results.
The workshop content also focuses on how to risk-plan projects and managing changing using the ADKAR change management methodology within the client's contexts. Emphasis is on identifying potential project problems and issues, ranking the risks, producing risk responses, studying impact of risks, and tracking risk response implementations.
Participants are encouraged to bring their projects to the session. Project Risk Management checklists and templates, are used to model a participant’s project. Ample case studies, examples and interactive individual/group exercises are provided.
Objectives
- Agilizing projects to maximise production efficiency and reducing unnecessary or unimportant processes in project management.
- Utilize the proven recipe for substantial quality improvement (DMAIC) to produce a lean project to encourage minimal wastage and rework.
- To instil the habit of anticipation with regard to identifying possible project problems, uncertainties, and contingencies.
- To produce a Risk Management Register which itemises and assesses the risks, risk triggers, risk responses, and response implementations toward the risks.
- Manage a successful change transition using proven ADKAR tools and techniques.
